Checking your grades online in NCKU

Ignorant me, I thought the only way to check grades was the enrollment system, which rarely updates. A Taiwanese student just pointed out to me that NCKU has a Chinese website where you can check your grades :

Put in your NCKU username and password, just like in the enrollment system, click on the year you wish to view (Taiwanese year) and it should be there.

Greeting from the office. Hope that you all ok in your final exam. Regarding to your courses work and advisor identifications, the following decisions have been concluded in today's Faculty Meeting:

1. Advisors：

Students are first preferred to have advisors within IMBA program. You must ask a professor from IMBA program to be your "co-advisor" if you have an advisor from another department. Advisors from other school are not acceptable.

2. Courses：

（1） There are 3 majors for Ph.D. program; students have to at least take 6 courses from each major.

（2） Students will get an official provable document from Chairman of IMBA program when you graduate, and it will state your major.

（3） Taiwanese students（98&99 classes）are allowed to take 4 Chinese courses；Taiwanese students are just allowed to take 2 Chinese courses since next Fall Semester（2008 Fall）.

（4） Taiwanese students can NOT take any Chinese course if you applied for courses exemption of Chinese courses.

（5） Students who want to select courses which are not listed on the IMBA course schedule have to fill a form（apply）and it will be examined by faculty members.

（6） International students are allowed to take 2 Chinese courses from other departments, but you have to submit the documents which can prove your Chinese ability.

（7） For the 6 pre-requisited courses, Ph.D. students can apply for taking the examinations in stead of attending/selecting the courses.

（8） Ph.D. students can NOT apply for courses waiver（courses exemption is acceptable ）.

3. Teaching Assistant

（1） Ph.D. students who are holding assistantship have to work as TAs for those courses opened by the IMBA program. Students have to work at least 5 hours per week.

（2） Other Ph.D. students who have assistantship still have to work for their professors or advisors in researching task.

Dear Students,

We at the student council have noticed that an increasing number of students are walking around campus uttering things like, "Quiero ver una pelicula porque he estado estudiando mucho!" which in English means, "I want to watch a movie because I've been studying too long!" We also think we've heard this in a few other languages though it's hard to tell because no one on the council is fluent in Thai.

Anyhow, to address this concern we have organized a bit of a movie watching event for anyone and everyone who would like to attend. The only limit is the number of people we can, legally, fit into the "Harvard Lecture Room" on the 4th floor of the IIM building. It is also known as room 62401. This little event will take place this Friday, January 11th from 11 p.m. until the movie ends.

We are still accepting movie suggestions. It can be any movie as long as it's accompanied by a reason. The current winner is "Money as Debt," a documentary about how banks control money. Please send suggestions to cjlinenator@gmail.com.

There will be an orientation on November 26, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm, which you are all REQUIRED to attend. Failure to attend the said MANDATORY meeting will oblige you to write an authoritative excuse letter that you will have to hand in personally to the ISAD office.

Initailly, the oreintation is scheduled on Nov. 23, but some matters make us change the date.
