Michael Turton will be giving a talk to the IEAS student club and NCKU students about Taiwan and blogging. Michael is Taiwan's number one English language blogger and has been living in Taiwan for over 16 years.

Dear Students,

We at the student council have noticed that an increasing number of students are walking around campus uttering things like, "Quiero ver una pelicula porque he estado estudiando mucho!" which in English means, "I want to watch a movie because I've been studying too long!" We also think we've heard this in a few other languages though it's hard to tell because no one on the council is fluent in Thai.

Anyhow, to address this concern we have organized a bit of a movie watching event for anyone and everyone who would like to attend. The only limit is the number of people we can, legally, fit into the "Harvard Lecture Room" on the 4th floor of the IIM building. It is also known as room 62401. This little event will take place this Friday, January 11th from 11 p.m. until the movie ends.

We are still accepting movie suggestions. It can be any movie as long as it's accompanied by a reason. The current winner is "Money as Debt," a documentary about how banks control money. Please send suggestions to cjlinenator@gmail.com.

The Holiday and New Year's Party has been set! The details follow:

9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

We will have appetizers catered by the restaurant, live music, and
raffle drawings!

Tickets are NT$200 with a NCKU student ID. Each student may purchase
one guest ticket at NT$300. These prices end the 18th. All tickets
are NT$350 starting the 19th.

Raffle drawings will be held during the event.
Each entrant is entitled to one raffle ticket.
Additional raffle tickets may be purchased at the event.
Semi formal attire is required.

The tickets can be purchased from two main locations:

1.) The Office of International Affairs on the 8th floor of Yuping,
the administration building.

2.) The International MBA office on the 2nd floor of the Institute
of International Management.

NCKU Internationalization meeting

You are formally invited to the next Internationalization meeting at NCKU, hosted by the IMBA Student Council of the Institute of International Management (IIM).

As discussed in our last meeting, this meeting will focus on internationalization proposals with group discussion, feedback and advice.

Our agenda will involve the following:
20 minutes of brief introductions followed by 15 minute time allotments for each group depending on attendance. These 15 minutes will be divided into proposal presentation and discussion. If time allows, we will have open discussion about new ideas. This agenda may change depending on how many proposals we receive, so please send them to us ASAP.

Please have your proposals in by December 12 as we need to plan the agenda. Your proposals are very important to this meeting and we encourage your participation. Your proposal can be as focused as you want. It should include your organization's name and a short summary of your ideas. Please send them to adobombado@gmail.com.
(You can use either English or Chinese to write your proposal though English is encouraged, DO NOT WORRY about your English ability, we only mind your ideas)

This meeting will take place on Saturday, December 15 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. It will be held on the second floor (Room 62201) of the College of Management (管理學院) building located on the Kuang Fu (光復校區) campus.
