     1.25

   1.8

    2.5

3.) Each unit is equivalent to 5000nt, and the amount awarded is according to the chart.

Ex. Studying abroad for 5 months and earning 3 credits:

1.5 (units received for time abroad) * 5 (months) * 5000 (nt) = 37500nt

4.) NCKU students earning credits from schools abroad can also apply for airfare subsidies. The maximum amount, based on destination, is as follows:

          i. Within Asia: 20,000nt

          ii.Europe and the US: 30,000nt

(5.) Aside from mainland Chinese students, financial assistance is available for exchange students at our University (based on the chart above).

(6.) Each student can apply once, and the maximum award amount is 150,000nt.

(7.) Since the Ministry of Education does not honor credits from mainland China, students participating in exchange programs in China are only eligible to for airfare assistance, the amount not exceeding 10,000nt.

ii.) College and Department Perks

(1.) In order to encourage students to earn credits abroad, for each student that goes, the college receives 10,000nt and the department receives 20,000nt.

(2.) In addition, to encourage each division to recruit and accept foreign exchange students, the college receives 15,000nt and the department 30,000nt.

(3.) Because the Ministry of Education does not honor credits from mainland China, exchanges between those schools are not included within the assistance category.

6. Financial aid is usually issued a month before departure, and airfare assistance after the student has returned.

7. The financial assistance offered is equivalent to that of the Government; and should not be used concurrently. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. If there is a change of plans, the Office of International Affairs must be informed or the award amount shall be revoked.

8. Students who receive financial aid must write a report in Chinese and English

within a month of their return. The report should be saved in an electronic format in order for the Office of International Affairs to publish online. In addition, the student is required to share their experiences in English. Failure to comply will result in returning all aid awarded.

money was allocated. The report is due within two weeks' of the end of the year.

Failure to do so will result in the revocation of the funds.
