If you are getting the Taiwanese black lung, you might want to add your name to a facebook group which has been formed to raise awareness of the harmful effect of burning the toxic ghost money. It is technically illegal to burn in Taiwan and violators can be fined between $10000 and $1000000 NT for doing so. Alas, the government does not seem to enforce their own laws.
Anyways, a Taiwanese guy has made a group on Facebook with lots of information on it.

Thanks for the info. I've joined the group. I hope it can help raise awareness as this is a very serious issue in Taiwan, but I don't know how much of a difference it will make being on Facebook and in English. However, any kind of presence is better than nothing.

The guy that started the group, Huang, wants to get 1000 members and then start showing Taiwanese media how much people don't like the tradition.
I think most people, upon reading the links from that group will jump on board. Every little think counts.

Really, not many people really like that. I mean it's hot and people say it's tradition, we have to throw in, can't even throw in stacks, they gotta do it piece by piece and it's frustrating. It's more of a burden.
