Between tradition and modernity and at the cross point of the past and the future, Kaohsiung is at the start point of becoming a new future city. For the past few years, new construction projects have been completed and a brand new Kaohsiung look has taken shape. Kaohsiung, combining urban characteristics of rivers and harbors plus a stable climate, is an optimal base for developing the film industry. The organization of the film festival will not only establish international people’s impression of Kaohsiung, the city but also develop Kaohsiung people’s interest in watching movies and film production.
