The theme of Summit 2008 is leadership.  Leadership in its many facets, interpreted through Asian cultures and values, along with the cooperation necessary for regional leadership in an increasingly globalized world is the emphasis of Summit 2008.  Asian nations have increasingly turned to regional linkages to the challenges of political, economic and social development issues; along with a wide array of other concerns.   

The hope is that this years delegates will look into the many connections that Asian nations form to deal with the issues and concerns that face them.  Summit encourage delegates to investigate the ways that these nation form alliances through political, social and economic associations with members throughout Asia.  What are the concerns that bring these nations together?  How are the governmental and civil society organizations formed and governed?  What shared values and concerns do they have? What impact do these organizations have on the world, and how are they affected by the world at large.
